Mrs. Williamson's healthcare science students are studying various healthcare facilities. Students had to research the type of facility, procedures offered at the facility, create a 3D model of the facility, and explain roles/jobs that would be available at the facility. Students presented their projects and then had time to explore their peers' work.

Mrs. Neville's 7th grade students completed an economics lab to learn more about the economies of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel. Students investigated Israel’s economy by inspecting uncut diamonds and the advanced technology used to produce the finished product. Students considered the reasons an uncut diamond is so much less valuable than one that has been cut and polished. They used Private Eye Loupes to also view oil and gold flakes much like what is found in Saudi Arabia. Students delved into what makes gold so valuable and the many everyday items that are made from petroleum. Last, students identified seeds from crops that are commonly found in the agricultural sector of Turkey’s economy. We focused on how each of these items are transformed from natural resources into manufactured goods as well as the impact it has on economies of the world.
7th grade science students enjoyed learning about animal adaptation with Kathy Church from Smithgall Woods.
This annual contest is always a hit! Our students are so creative. We look forward to seeing all the pumpkin characters this year.
